Docksiders Walks Away With Two
All-Around Champions!!
Docksiders Gymnastics Optional Teams
traveled to Exton, Pennsylvania for the John Pancott Invitational on March 3,
2007. When the competition day was done Docksiders had two All-Around
Champions and several Individual Event Champions as well. Brianna Guy, who has
been on a serious winning streak lately, posted her
personal
best All-Around score with a 38.15 and took the All-Around title for the Level
10 Junior division, and Rachel Fincham earned the Champion title for the Level
10 Senior division with an All-Around score of 36.65. The Docksiders Level 10
team took a 2nd place finish in the Team Competition.
In the individual events at Level 10
Brianna Guy was named Balance Beam Champion for her rock solid performance with
a score of 9.675. She also took 2nd place on Vault with a 9.45 and 3rd
place on both Bars, with a 9.475, and Floor Exercise with a 9.575. Also
competing in the Junior division Krystal Welsh was named the Uneven Bars
Champion with a 9.50 and the Floor Exercise Champion with the high score of
9.775. Krystal’s high scores placed her 2nd in the All-Around with a
combined score of 37.20. Heather Atwood of Docksiders took a 3rd
place finish on Balance Beam in the same age group with an 8.925. In the Senior
Division Rachel Fincham was the Uneven Bars Champion with her incredibly swingy
routine earning her an awesome score of 9.60. Also in the Senior Division
Melanie Brother placed 3rd on Uneven Bars with a 9.025 and Lilly
Siems took a 3rd place award for her Vault with a 9.20. Also
contributing two scores to the 2nd place team finish was Stephanie
Ouellette, who is only competing on 3 events while she is working her way back
to full competition after an injury.
In the Level 9 competition Docksider Monica Durham was the Uneven Bar Champion with a score of 9.35 and also placed 3rd on both Balance Beam, with an 8.65, and Floor Exercise, with an 8.725. She was awarded a 2nd place finish in the Junior Division All-Around with a 34.825. Jenna White, who was competing in the Senior Division, Vaulted her way to a Champion title with a 9.125 and also earned a 3rd place finish on Balance Beam with an 8.65.
The Docksiders Level 8 Team boasted two event Champions. Caite Fleming earned Balance Beam Champion status for her 8.75 beam routine and Michelle Patricelli kept her Vault winning streak going with a 9.275. Caite also took 3rd place on Vault with an 8.80.
The Docksiders Level 9 & 10 gymnasts will be preparing for their State Competitions coming up at the end of the month and the Level 8 Team will have a few weeks off to rest and will be back in action on the weekend of March 24th at the Spring Fling competition in Columbia, MD.
