Garcia & Gross Win All Around Titles at Christmas on the Chesapeake
 

     Docksiders Gymnastics hosted the Christmas on the Chesapeake Gymnastics Competition at the Baltimore convention center on December 8-10th. Close to 1,500 gymnasts arrived in Baltimore to compete over the 3 days of competition. The competitors ranged in age from 6 years old to 18 year old and from levels 4 through Elite. Two Docksider gymnasts walked away with All-Around Titles in different age groups in the level 10/open competition, which featured Level 10 and Elite gymnasts, and the Docksiders Level 10 team placed 2nd in the meet.

     Alexis Gross won the 12-14 year old age group with a 36.25, and Toi Garcia won the 15 year old Age group with a 36.45. Alexis was also named Balance Beam Champion with a score of 9.25 and took 2nd place on Uneven Bars with a score of 9.20. Toi placed 2nd on balance Beam with a score of 9.25 and 3rd on Vault with the high score of 9.55. There were also several other highlights for individual members of the Docksiders team. Brianna Guy won Uneven Bars with a score of 9.45, was 3rd on Vault with a score of 9.375, and 2nd All-Around with a total score of 35.775. Rachel Fincham swung an awesome Uneven Bar routine to score 9.45 and place 1st in the 14 year old age group. Stephanie Ouellette performed a solid beam routine to earn the title of Balance Beam Champion with a score of 9.275. Krystal Welsh took home a 2nd place trophy for her dynamic Vault which earned her a score of 9.40. Melanie Brother took the title of Uneven Bar Champion in the 16 year old age group for her routine that scored 9.10 as well as 3rd place All-Around with a total score of 34.50. Also in the 16 year old age group was Sarah Meiklejohn who earned 2nd place on Balance Beam with a score of 8.5 and 3rd place on floor Exercise with a score of 9.00. Lilly Siems placed 2nd on both Vault, with a score of 9.10, and Floor Exercise with a score of 8.75 in the 17 year old age group. Also competing for the Docksiders team was Heather Atwood.
