Docksiders Level 10’s Win Sweet Heart Invitational for the third Year in Row!

Level 8, 9, & 10 Teams all traveled by bus to Raleigh,
North Carolina to compete in the Sweet Heart
Invitational on February 16th & 17th
for what has become a annual trip that everyone
In the youngest Level 10 age group, 15 & under, Alexis Gross won her 2nd All-Around of the season with a 35.875. She also placed 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.125. Heather Atwood placed 2nd in the All-Around with a 35.525 and earned champion status on Uneven Bars with a 9.225. Heather also took 2nd place on Vault with a 9.20. Betsy Zander took home two 2nd place awards, for her 8.95 Balance Beam routine and her Floor Exercise routine which earned her a 9.35.
In the 16 year old age group Rachel Fincham won her first All-Around of the season with the high score of 37.225. She also earned 1st on Uneven Bars with a 9.55 and 2nd place on all 3 other events. Her scores of 9.45, 8.8, and 9.425 on Vault, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise respectively were just short of winning on each event. Toi Garcia took 2nd in the All-around competition with a 36.80 and earned event titles on both Vault, with a 9.625, and Floor Exercise with a 9.65. She received 2nd place on Uneven Bars with a 9.525.
In the 17 & over age group Lilly Siems placed 1st on Floor Exercise with a 9.375 and 2nd on Vault with a 9.30. Melanie Brother took 3rd place honors in both the All-Around, with a 35.075, and Uneven Bars with an 8.60.
In the Level 9 Competition several individual awards went to Docksiders gymnasts. In the 13 & under age group Meagan Rotondo took 3rd place on both Vault, with a 9.025, and Floor Exercise with a 9.15. In the 14 & 15 year old age group Chelsea Rosborough took home 1st place on Vault, with a 9.175, and 2nd place on Floor Exercise with a 9.325. In the 17 & up age group Michelle Patricelli took a 2nd place finish on Vault with a 9.050, and 3rd place on Floor Exercise with a 9.025.
In the Level 8 Competition there were stand out performances from several gymnasts. In the 8-11 year old age group Cori McCrary had the highest Balance Beam score of the weekend with a huge 9.60, she even broke the Docksiders Level 8 record for this event!! In addition, Cori took 2nd place on Floor Exercise tying teammate Emily Bowen with a 9.475. Emily Bowen was also named Vault Champion with the high score of 9.50. Alexandra Zois placed 3rd on Balance Beam for her solid performance, which earned her a 9.425.
