Docksiders Achieves 2 Team Victories

& 8 All-Around Champions!!

 

    It was a very eventful weekend for Docksiders Gymnastics.  Levels 8, 9, and 10 are traveled by bus to Raleigh, North Carolina for the Sweet Heart Invitational while Levels 4, 5, 6 & 7 competed in Waldorf, Maryland   The weekend proved to one of the most successful team weekends to date with two team wins and 8 All-Around Champions. at the Unique Classic.


    In North Carolina, Alexis Gross won the Level 10 All-Around for the Senior Age group with a career high score of 37.525.  The Level 10 Team place 2nd in the team competition by just .025.  At Level 9, Monica Durham won the Senior Age group with a 36.50 and Noelle DeCesare won the Child Age group with a 35.85.  Both won all 4 events as well as the All-Around.   The Level 9 Team placed 3rd in the Team competition.   

 

    In Waldorf, Maryland, The Level 6 and Level 4 Teams both won the team competition.  At level 6, Lexie Banham won the Junior A  All-Around with a 37.15.  Ronni Binstock won the Child age group with a career high score of 37.10. At Level 5, Gillian Dea won the Senior B age group with a combined total of 36.10. At Level 4,  Layne Bullock placed 1st All-Around in the Child D age group with a 37.175 and Sarah Laible placed 1st All-Around in the Junior A age group with a 37.125. It was an incredible winning weekend for Docksiders!!

 

North Carolina News!

 

    At Level 10, Alexis Gross added Beam Champion in the Senior age group with a 9.45 to her All-Around win.  She placed 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.45 and 3rd on Vault with a 9.225.  In the same age group Stephanie Ouellette, who will join the NC State Wolfpack team next year, won both Uneven Bars with a 9.625 and Floor Exercise with a 9.60.   She placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.475 and 3rd in the All-Around with a 36.825.  Betsy Zander placed 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.525 and 3rd on Uneven Bars with a 9.375.   In the Junior age group, Krystal Welsh was crowned Beam Champion with a 9.375.  She placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.575 and 3rd on Uneven Bars with a 9.425.   Her combined score placed her 2nd in the All-Around with a 37.40. Brianna Guy was champion on Vault with a 9.75 and place 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.45. Heather Atwood placed 3rd on both Balance Beam with a 9.35 and Floor Exercise with a 9.275.  She also took 3rd in the All-Around with her career high of 37.10.  In the Child age group, Emily Bowen placed 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.25.

 

    At Level 9, Monica Durham swept a win on all the events and the All-Around in the senior age group.  She scored 9.50 on Vault, 9.375 on Uneven Bars, 8.475 on Balance Beam and 9.15 on Floor Exercise. In the Child Age group, Noelle DeCesare did a clean sweep as well.  She scored 8.60 on Vault, 9.10 on Uneven Bars, 9.10 on Balance Beam and 9.05 on Floor Exercise. In the Junior A age group Alex Zois placed 2nd in the All-Around with a 36.40. She placed 2nd on both Balance Beam with a 9.025 and Floor Exercise with a 9.175. She took 3rd on Uneven Bars with a 9.20.  Leah Dunn placed 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.30 and 3rd in the All-Around with a 35.875.  In the Junior B age group, Miranda Telmanik placed 2nd All-Around with a 35.85.  She was named Beam Champion with an 8.90 and placed 3rd on Uneven Bars with a 9.275.

 

    At Level 8 there were several individual awards. Top honors went to Elana Spiegler who placed 3rd over all with a 36.55 and won Uneven Bars with a 9.30. Sarah Hughes placed 1st on Vault with a 9.425, while Amy Milligan placed 3rd on Floor Exercise with a 9.425. Julia Gielen placed 3rd on Vault with a 9.20. 

 

Waldorf, Maryland News!

 

    At Level 4, Layne Bullock finished 1st on Uneven Bars with a 9.5, 1st on Balance Beam with a 9.15 and 1st on Floor Exercise with a 9.375.  She took 3rd  on Vault with a 9.20 and added all those places to her 1st place All-Around in the Child D age group.  In the Junior A age group Sarah Laible earned the title Floor Exercise Champion with a 9.425 with her All-Around win.  She placed 3rd on Uneven Bars with a 9.30 and 3rd on Balance Beam with a 9.35.  In the same age group Anna Bowen placed 2nd over all with a 36.95 and took the Champion title on Vault with a 9.55.  Paige Doyle came in 3rd All-Around with a 36.85, making it a 1, 2, 3 sweep of Docksiders in this age group for the All-Around.   Paige won Balance Beam with a solid 9.425 and placed 3rd on Vault with a 9.10. Christine Potter took 2nd on both Vault with a 9.15 and Uneven Bars with a 9.225. Breanna Titchener finished 2nd in the Child B age group with a 36.925. She won Floor Exercise with a 9.375 and placed 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.25 and 3rd on Vault with a 9.35. In the same age group, Adelina Rodriques placed 3rd All-Around with a 36.05 and took 2nd on Balance Beam with a 9.30. Krista Martin placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.45 and 3rd on Balance Beam with a 9.0. Tristan Bullock placed 3rd on both Uneven Bars with an 8.90 and on Floor Exercise with a 9.20.  In the Child C age group, Emily Cave placed 2nd over all with a 35.10. She placed 1st on Vault with a 9.45 and 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.10.  Alyssa Tompkins placed 3rd on Balance Beam with an 8.65. Also competing for the Team victory was Sarah Zois, Jessica Seymour, Sarah Okes, Sara Mooradian, Juliet Luers, Parker Cross, and Emily Bradshaw.

 

    At Level 5, Gillian Dea was the top performer, winning the All-Around in the Senior B age group. She placed 1st on Uneven Bars with a 9.575 and 1st on Floor Exercise with a 9.20. Gillian also took a 3rd place finish on Vault with an 8.55.  In the Junior C age group, Audrey Hofmann places 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.025.  In the Junior B age group Sara Norton won Balance Beam with a 9.075. In the Child C age group, Nicole Mozar took 2nd place All-Around with a 34.70. She earned Champion status on Vault with a 9.15 and places 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.025.  In the Child B age group Sydney Gilman placed 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.45 and 3rd on Vault with an 8.75.

 

    At Level 6 in the Junior A age group, Lexie Banham added 1st on both Balance Beam with a 9.475 and Floor Exercise with a high score of 9.65 to her All-Around win.  She placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.35 and 2nd on Uneven Bars with an 8.675. Also in the Junior A age group, Lexi Pitkevistz placed 3rd on Floor Exercise with a 9.05. In the Child age group, Ronni Binstock had a break out performance winning with a 37.10. She placed 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.475 and 2nd on Vault with a 9.50.   She placed 3rd on Uneven Bars with an 8.925. In the Senior age group, Melanie Martin placed 1st on Balance Beam with a 9.375. Angela Marino placed 2nd on Balance Beam with a 9.075 and 2nd on Floor Exercise with an 8.75. She also took 3rd on Uneven Bars with an 8.35.  In the Jr. B age group Karsyn Modeski placed 3rd All-Around with a 35.125 and 3rd on Floor Exercise with a 9.0.  She took 2nd on Vault with a 9.05. Contributing to the Team win were teammates Ashley Diekemper, Kyra Feick, Meghan McKenna, Kaitlyn Mozer and Madeline Nesbit.

 

    At Level 7, Jamie Marcus placed 3rd on Balance Beam with an 8.65 and Floor Exercise with a 9.0 in the Senior Age group. Alex Swann-White placed 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.15 in the Child B age group.
